- 4/20/09 - It's a colt! Dunalino with frost and sclera! Dreamy foaled about midnight with. She took to mother hood like she was born to it.
- Bred to Par son pine they have a nice bodied foal with a cute head and great conformation. There was a 75% chance of a dun (bay dun, dunskin, grullo, smoky grullo, red dun or dunalino) and a small chance of a sorrel, bay, smoky black, black, palomino or buckskin. The 50% chance of appaloosa color and characteristics happened, Cisco has frost and sclera! Cisco belongs to Sara Ruiz, who is leasing Dreamy in exchange for my lease of Karma.

Dun day dreaming is a beautiful, dainty filly who has a correct conformation, beautiful head and last but not least, spots (whew). Her sire, Nightfinder, is a superior halter horse. He has over 100 halter points! While Dreamy didn't get his beefy conformation she has inherited his dishy 'Goer' head and tiny foxy ears.
Dreamy was born live on the foaling cam with the world watching. This was the first year it was streaming with marestare!
I was home from work that morning because Wakita was pacing and streaming milk which was her usual just-before-foaling routine. I was pleased with the spectacular filly with all the dun factor I could ever want. Being a filly and dun almost made up for only a tiny freckle or two of white hairs on her hips! With a loud snowcap for a sire I really expected a more loudly colored foal! However, Appaloosa genetics are like christmas! You just never know for sure what you are going to get! With the current knowledge of appaloosa genetics on the verge of a breakthrough in a test for LP it is less hit and miss when I choose the colors of sire/dam for future foals! Now that she is 3 she has the most beautiful coloring with dark spots coming through the creamy tan of her hips. She is also roaning which is helping to accent the spectacular dark spots over her hips. - above picture taken summer 2007 as a 2 year old. Dreamy sustained a deep cut to one knee as a weanling. Due to this injury she was never pushed for any shows or training before she was completely healed. She has a nasty scar but otherwise is sound. Dreamy was tested by UCDavis for color. She is heterozygous for black, has one cream (wakita is a smoky grulla) and she is dun.
